Hastelloy X sheets and plates are primarily composed of 47.5% nickel, 22-23% chromium, 17-18% iron, 8-9% molybdenum, and small amounts of cobalt, tungsten, and other trace elements. This composition gives it excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion at high temperatures, making it ideal for extreme environments. The mechanical properties include a tensile strength of approximately 95-125 ksi (655-860 MPa), yield strength of 35-55 ksi (240-380 MPa), and elongation of 35-50%. These properties combined with high thermal-fatigue resistance ensure the durability and performance of Hastelloy X in applications like aerospace and gas turbines.
