Stainless Steel 317L is a low-carbon austenitic stainless steel alloy with higher chromium, nickel, and molybdenum content. The molybdenum enhances resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, particularly in chloride-rich environments, while the low carbon content minimizes the risk of intergranular corrosion after welding.
