Stainless steel 316 circle is a corrosion resistant alloy made primarily of steel, containing 16-18% chromium, 10-14% nickel and 2-3% molybdenum. The addition of molybdenum enhances the corrosion resistance of chloride, making it more marine and chemically environmentally friendly. Mechanical properties of SS 316 include high tensile strength (515 MPa), yield strength (205 MPa), and elongation (40-50%). It has excellent weldability and formability. This alloy also retains good strength and hardness at high temperatures, making it suitable for high temperature applications. Its pitting and crevice corrosion resistance is exceptional.
